The High Atlas mountains are located in the heart of Morocco and are easy to access from Marrakech. The first inhabitants of these mountains were the Berbers, that still preserve their ancestral traditions and language to this day. On this 2-day adventure, we will take you to discover this unique place. We will set off from Marrakech and drive first to Azzaden , and from there we will enjoy 2-days of trekking and exploring Atlas alleys. On the way, we will encounter Berber villages, great food, and the stunning landscapes of the Atlas Mountains. Keep in mind that we will hike on average a total of 5 to 6 hours a day. Therefore, you will need to be physically fit. However, this is not a demanding program, and everyone is welcome to join! Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Tiziane(1950m) – Tizi n’Takherkhort pass 2100m– Assif zagzawn 1900m

We’ll pick you up from your Marrakech accommodation at 8:30 am and drive about 1 hour 15 minutes to Tiziane, the starting point of our Atlas Mountains trek, where you’ll meet our local team. We’ll start the day with a welcoming cup of tea before beginning our hike toward the Tizi n’Takherkhort Pass. From the pass, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views over the Ouirgane, Azzaden, and Nfiss Valleys, perfect for photos and soaking in the High Atlas scenery.We’ll pause for a fresh meal prepared by our cook, then continue walking downhill to the village of Assif Zagzawn, where we’ll spend the night in a traditional Berber village house, experiencing authentic mountain hospitality. The day covers approximately 5 hours of walking, offering a gentle and scenic introduction to the beauty and culture of the Atlas Mountains.

Day 2: Assif Zagraoun (1,700m) – Tamgerht 2489m – Ouirgane 1740m- Marrakech.

Day 2 of our hike in the Atlas Mountains is a relaxed and scenic walk through the beautiful landscapes of the High Atlas.We depart from Assif Zagzawn in the morning after breakfast, following the easiest and most enjoyable section of the trail. The path is gentle and well-paced, ideal for walkers who want to take in the scenery without a strenuous climb. In winter, some areas may require crampons if snow is present.After a 3–4 hour walk, we reach the peaceful spring of Tamgercht, where we stop for a picnic lunch and refreshing herbal tea. From here, hikers enjoy wide panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and plains — a highlight of this Atlas Mountains hiking day.After lunch, we begin our descent through scenic oak and juniper forests, passing the village of Tilfist in the Ouirgane Valley before continuing toward Anraz and Torord.At the end of the day, our driver transfers us back to Marrakech, completing a rewarding day of hiking in the Atlas Mountains.
